deviled hotdogs
ingredients
- ½ cup finely chopped sweet onion
- 2 tbsp finely chopped green pepper
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
- 1 package hot dogs
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp prepared yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp salt
instructions
- in a large pot or skillet, cook the onion and green pepper until tender but not brown.
- mix the ketchup, brown sugar, mustard, worcestershire sauce, and salt in the skillet. add ¼ cup of water if the sauce is too thick.
- score the hotdogs diagonally (make diagonal cuts on the side of the hotdogs near the top, middle, and bottom) and add them to the skillet.
- roll the hotdogs around to coat them with the sauce. cover and simmer for about 8 minutes or until heated through.
- serves 4.
